Learning Outcomes
After the course students will be competent in distinguishing between theories of learning and in explaining the concept of media education from the viewpoint of the library. They will utilise various methods of teaching when co-operating with school and educating others about the media. Students will also be competent in planning and organising tuition for individuals and groups concerning library work.

Assessment Criteria
Saticfactory (1-2)
After the course the student is able to separate shortly the elements of planning, implementation and evaluation of the teaching event. S/he is able to define what media education means and tell excamples of media education in library. S/he is able to tell what kind of teaching belongs to library duties. The student is able to implement a small-scale teaching event in a group.
Good (3-4)
After the course the student is able to separate and analyse the elements of planning, implementation and evaluation of a teaching event. S/he is also able to analyse what media education means and what is the role of library in it. S/he is able to compare different kinds of duties that deal with teaching or guiding. As the member of a group, the student is able to implement a teaching event that puts theory of learning into practice.
Excellent (5)
After the course the student is able to separate and analyse diversely the elements of planning, implementation and evaluation of a teaching event. S/he is also able to analyse diversely what media education means and what is the role of library in it. S/he is able to compare and propose different kinds of duties that deal with teaching or guiding. The student is able to implement as an active and inspirational member of a group a teaching event that puts theory of learning into practice.
Assessment Methods
Assessment is based on active participation in contact lessons and group work, assignments and exercises of guiding and teaching.
Self-assessment and peer assessment.
Work Placement
The course includes practice in libraries, schools or kindergartens.
