Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, student will
- be knowledgeable of the more common manufacturing techniques and the machines used in the wood product industry.
- be competent in selecting manufacturing techniques for different wood products.
- be knowledgeable of the latest manufacturing techniques used in the wood product industry.
- be competent in designing simple production lines for thr wood product industry.
- be capable of analysing and improving different production processes of wood.

Contents

- Woodworking machines for cutting, edging, planing, milling, sanding, drilling, dowelling, mounting, etc. wood
- Basic processes in the wood product industry (producing sawn timber, planed timber and plywood)
- Processes for in the furniture industry (solid wood and plywood)
- Processes for producing windows, doors and glue boards
- Processes for producing wooden and log houses (element and lod houses)
