Learning Outcomes

The student is able to plan business operations. The student is able to describe the meaning of the business environment. The student is capable of preparing a business plan and is able to function in a group. The student is able to describe the meaning of accounting in business. The student is able to prepare simple budgets and knows the most fundamental factors affecting a company's profitability. The student is able to identify ERP-systems. The student is able to identify attributes describing a marketer. The student is able to draw up a business idea ja is able to identify ways to produce customer value. The student knows the most important business information sources and is able to use them. The student knows different stakeholder groups of a company and knows the purpose of networking to a business. The student is able to write business letters and to utilize them in trading.

The student is able to describe the meaning of the business environment. The student is capable of preparing a business plan and is able to function in a group. The student is able to appropriately interact with others; the student will know how to take others into consideration and accommodate the demands of the situation and the professional field in communicating coherently, convincingly and clearly. The student is capable to develop Finnish language skills and skills in communication as part of professional know-how. The student knows the most important business information sources and is able to use them.

Good (4-3): The student has carried out work well and participated actively. The student is able to plan business operations. The student is able to describe the meaning of the business environment. Assessment Methods

- Group work: business plan (50 %) and information retrieval (15 %)
- Individual performance: exam on marketing (15%) and learning diary (20%, passed/failed)
