Mode of Delivery / Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Classroom teaching, virtual learning, and independent work. Individual and team work. There is a group-specific Moodle platform in use on the course.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 1: All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time. Students can communicate using English even though many mistakes are made.

Grade 2: All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time.The student’s communication skills are average and few mistakes are made.

Grade 3: All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time. In all the areas of the student’s language skills are above average with few mistakes.

Grade 4: All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time. The student’s skills are good. Communication flows and very few mistakes.

Grade 5: All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time. The student’s skills are well above average. Hardly any mistakes. Intonation and fluency are natural.

Assessment Methods

The assessment of the course (scale 1 to 5) is influenced by the following factors:

1. All assignments shall be done and submitted to Moodle in agreed time. If some of the assignments remain(s) uncompleted, it is not possible to complete the course.

2. Courses in foreign languages at Seinäjoki UAS are subject to the following rule: to complete the course, participation in at least 50 percent of the classroom teaching is required. In case the student’s absence exceeds 20 percent of the total number of classes, this will affect the student’s final grade.
