Learning Outcomes

Students will recognise the role of home and family care as part of servives that support the wellbeing and health of older people. Students will learn to analyse the meaning of multi-professional home care. They will know how to evaluate skills and knowledge required in supervision of home care. They will identify the possibilities and challenges of family care.

Student's Workload

52 hours, including 20 hours in the classroom and 32 hours independently.

Contents

Planning, implementation and evaluation of home care, special competence required for work in the client's home, client and resource-centred approach, multi-professional work, supervising home care, family care as a form of elderly care.

Assessment Criteria

Grade 5
Students know how to analyse and assess the role of home and family care in services that support the health and wellbeing of older people.

Grade 3
Students know how to compare implementation practices, possibilities and challenges in home and family care.

Grade 1
Students are able to describe implementation practices in home and family care.

Assessment Methods

Students and lecturer will discuss the assessment methods at the beginning of the course.
