Students are able to describe the system of providing medical care. They will be introduced to the diagnosis, emergence, effects, prevention and treatment of common diseases. They are able to describe the emergence and prevention of infectious diseases, including the immune system, microbes, normal body flora and routes of infection.

Contents
The course discusses the organization of medical care and the diagnosis, emergence, effects, prevention and treatment of common diseases, basic facts about microbes, normal body flora, routes of infection and factors contributing to infectious diseases, infectious diseases caused by common microbes, and the prevention of infectious diseases.
