Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be competent in:
- interpreting and using the standardised methods of technical drawing including standard scales, symbols and diagrams.
- utilising methods of illustration for mechanical drawings and creating the required projections of an object to be designed.
- dimensioning an object to be designed and including the necessary standard symbols pertaining to surface roughness, tolerances, adapters, geometric tolerances and standard welding symbols, and making manufacturing drawings assmbly diagrams for machine parts using the symbols in question.
- using a two-dimensional, computer-aided designing (CAD) environment to create standardised technical documents.
- using a three-dimensional, computer-aided environment to develop three dimensional CAD models of parts and assemblies and necessary design documents thereof.
