Profile of the programme
The university of applied sciences master’s degree is designed to enhance the expertise of professionals and to answer to the needs of the working world. The studies provide participants with readiness to obtain, process, and apply research information associated with their own field to develop and utilise in their profession. The degree deepens and expands student’s knowledge of their profession and it is closely intertwined with the working world. The university of applied sciences master’s degree produces the same qualifications for public offices as the academic master’s degree in other universities.
Occupational profiles
The aim of the degree programme is to provide graduate students with readiness to work in demanding duties, such as project management, production and designing, in the field of construction. Construction businesses need employees with a master’s degree, and therefore those who have completed a master’s degree have excellent opportunities to advance to management positions in the field’s enterprises and organisations.
Studies in structural design provide students with AA level competence based on theoretical studies. Teaching concentrates on designing according the Eurocode system (timber, steel and concrete structures), Structural Mechanics and Building Physics.
Studies in production provide students with competence in Business Economics in Construction, Accounting in Construction and Project Management in Construction.
